Faithfulness
Matthew 7:7-8 says: 7 “Keep on asking, and you
will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on
knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone
who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Seems so simple doesn’t it? Truth is it is that simple. When we pray an effective
prayer and our heart desires the goodness of God, it can be ours.
I’ve been struggling as a mother, as a wife, and
as a woman of God lately. Something I’ll dive deeper into later, but for now I
couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share just how faithful the Lord is.
He is faithful to us when we are faithful to him.
He is our strength when we are weak. He holds us up when we are failing to hold
ourselves up. For some of us it takes time for us realize we’re to a point of
desperation, but when we realize it and we begin to ask the Lord for help; He
is faithful.
I’ve been so empty, lonely, weak, disappointed,
frustrated, and so ugly deep down lately. One night I just begged God for
guidance, for strength, and for wisdom to be the mother and wife He’s called me
to be. I asked for a community of women around me to reach out to and find encouragement
in and He provided. I’ve had several amazing friends reach out to me, give me
advice, encourage me, provide me with great resources that have created a hope
and a spark in me that I was missing. However, I wasn’t really feeling any emotional
change or progress. I was still feeling so down, so broken, and I didn’t
understand why.
This past week as I’ve looked in the mirror I’ve
struggled with the woman looking back at me. She’s not me. Where did I go?
I began asking the Lord to help me find “me”
again. I asked Him to guide me where I needed to be to find my place again, to
find my happiness again, and to break me open. Whoa. Ask and you shall receive.
Sometimes it’s not exactly what we are expecting, but it’s always what we need.
He is an amazing God, a faithful one, and when we
ask, He gives when needed. From friends reaching out, to advice, encouragement,
to blogs I’ve seen shared, to speakers messages being emailed to me, to book
suggestions, to the littlest of puzzles being fit together; I see Him at work
and He’s working on me. Transforming me back into the woman of God He created
me to be so that I can be the mother and wife I’m meant to be.
So, if you’re seeking Him in an area of your
life, trust that He will be faithful to you and provide what you need when you
need it in the way you need it.
xoxo,
Krista
