30 Days of Thankfulness: Day 3 Community
Today I’m
thankful for the community I live in and the wonderful events they put on for
kids. I think it’s great for local businesses to host events for kids. It’s a
way to bring parents and kids together to enjoy a day of fun. It helps break up
a normal routine and gives us a chance to do something different with our
kiddos. The best part is that it gives us a chance to wear the kiddos out. ;)
Hehehe….
Recently we
were able to attend a Kid’s Expo hosted by Michiana Family Magazine. They had several different vendors there that
parents could visit and get information from. There was lots of candy,
balloons, face painting, games, entertainment, and bounce houses.
My little munchkin
loves being out and about. He’s a very social little man and it’s just too cute
to see how he reacts in new situations. He was running all over the place so
excited about all the things around him. At one point Mickey Mouse had caught
his eye and he took off running towards Mickey screaming “mouussse!!!!!! Shortly
after the Mickey Mouse discovery he discovered candy. The kid loves candy!
Then it was on
to the bounce house area. They had several different sizes of bounce houses and
they had one that was meant for little munchkins like Mason. He was a little apprehensive
about the whole thing at first. He wanted to get in it soooo badly, but just couldn't brave it. It took him about 15 minutes and he finally took the leap. Then I couldn't get him out of it!
Events like
this can show your children that they are important by
giving them opportunities to have a day all about them. Attending these types of events as a family
teaches our children the importance of doing things together, spending time together,
and enjoying things together.
To find local events for your kiddos in your area check
your local newspaper or contact your local businesses.
xoxo,
Krista
